Carmen Rock

I will be playing at the Théâtre du Ruban Vert traverse Notre Dame, à Aix-en-Provence
The concert is called Carmen Rock.
Here is an extract of what we will be playing:
Bizet's Carmen, lyrical-rock.
Beyonce/Rage Against The Machine/Caravan, all in one piece...
Queen/Vivaldi/Amélie Poulain/MC Solaar, still all in the same piece...
But also Mozart, Stevie Wonder, Beethoven, Aloe Blacc, Rolling Stones, Black Eyed Peas, Téléphone, Johnny, and the Macarena (?wtf?)
It's a project that I love. It was born in the mountains during the 25th Ice Climbing des Ecrins, organised by the wonderwoman Cathy Jolibert.
The concept: An energy of rock and groove stuffed with classic references.
The initial format is a quartet: piano, bass, drums, and singing.
We've tipped this whole concept on it's head by creating a Piano/Vocal duet with the use of a sampler, in order to integrate rhythm and a play on beat-boxing.
My stage partner is as crazy as he is a virtuoso Equally compfortable beat boxing as he is with jazz, boogie, or by playing 'la lettre à Elisée' in all keys...
It is together that we thought of creating this unlikely cocktail...
So come, and let's have a great time!
